The Food Innovation Team at Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition North America is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Food Science Laboratory Technician. This role requires providing technical support to the team of food scientists and culinary professionals who work with our diverse portfolio of food ingredients across a variety of applications. The individual will be responsible for: preparing standardized food ingredient product formulations; organization, maintenance, and upkeep of laboratory materials, equipment, and ingredients; maintenance of SDS and ingredient databases; general management of laboratory cleanliness.

This position is responsible for monitoring & controlling the fermentation/purification process through field work, communication, and lab testing, all while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. This is a 12-hr. rotating shift position, days and nights.  

This position will operate packaging equipment working on various packaging lines in multiple warehouses.   Schedule will be 10-hour days.  Week 1: Work Mon., Tues., Off Weds., Thurs., Work Fri., Sat., Sun.  Week 2: Off Mon., Work Tues., Weds., Thurs., Off Fri., Sat., Sun.

The Product Development Specialist supports a wide range of activities including developing new and improving existing products, providing detailed product information management, nutritional labeling, and food safety compliance, catering primarily to registered dietitians (RDs), regulatory agencies, and internal teams such as food production and marketing. This position is located in our functional food facility in Brockton, MA.

The Product Development Team supports the medical nutrition business by developing new and revising existing product formulations to meet target characteristics that will deliver positive patient outcomes through therapeutic nutrition. Strong collaboration with the Directors of Medical Nutrition, Marketing, and Sales will be required to ensure desired nutritional levels are achieved throughout the product shelf-life, patient insights on flavor, texture, and palatability are incorporated. In this role, you will contribute to the ideation and exploration for uses of new to ACI ingredients and new to ACI business ventures in additional disease-states reliant on specialized medical nutrition.
