The Sustainability Manager will lead the development and execution of AHN's company-wide sustainability strategy. This role will serve as the central point of contact for sustainability-related initiatives, data management, and external evaluations, including EcoVadis. The manager will collaborate across business divisions, plants, and corporate functions to embed sustainability into AHN's operations and culture, while aligning with the broader Ajinomoto Group (AJICO) goals. Will function as a key liaison with the global headquarters (AJICO) to ensure alignment, share best practices, and contribute to group-wide sustainability initiatives
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, or corporate responsibility.
• Master’s degree in Sustainability preferred, related discipline.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., EcoVadis, GRI, SASB).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience communicating with external evaluation organizations (CDP, EcoVadis, etc.)
• Work experience at the headquarters of a listed company engaged in global business
• Experience in the food, nutrition, or manufacturing sectors.
• Knowledge of Ajinomoto Group’s ASV (Ajinomoto Shared Value) model and global sustainability goals.
• Strategy Development & Coordination
• Design and implement a unified sustainability strategy across all AHN entities.
• Align initiatives with Ajinomoto Group’s global sustainability ambitions and customer expectations.
• Data Management & Disclosure
• Build and maintain a centralized sustainability database.
• Prepare and manage data for external assessments (e.g., EcoVadis).
• Serve as the one-stop contact for sustainability-related customer inquiries and disclosures.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Facilitate communication and coordination among business units, factories, and corporate departments.
• Act as the liaison with AJICO and other affiliates on sustainability matters.
• Culture & Training
• Lead internal training and awareness programs to foster a sustainability-oriented culture.
• Promote employee engagement and ownership of sustainability goals.
