To interpret technical drawings, operate welding and fabrication equipment, and ensure precision and durability in all assembled products.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• 3 or more years’ experience working with industrial welding and fabrication
• Associates degree or Technical Trade School training is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to effectively communicate and follow written or verbal instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, fabrication equipment, rotating machinery, and use of a computer
• Knowledge and understanding of forklifts and personnel lifts
• Ability to cooperate and support a collaborative work environment
• Ability to multi-task to reduce process down time
• Strong working knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques including MIG, TIG, stick, plasma cutting, grinding, and solvent welding
• Ability to work on call, by request of supervisor
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and complied with.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Position requires the ability to stand for a minimum of 3-6 hours per day; sit, walk, bend over, and reach above head at a minimum of 2 hours per day; minimal lifting or carrying of fifty pounds occasionally.
· Lead welding and fabrication repair operations, ensuring precision and adherence to technical standards |
· Conduct ongoing infrastructure inspections and execute routine maintenance to uphold structural integrity |
· Coordinate with facility management to align project goals and secure operational support |
· Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and determine appropriate welding and fabrication repair solutions |
· Perform pipe fitting to enable efficient and accurate welding and fabrication processes |
· Train and mentor technicians in advanced welding and fabrication techniques to build team capability |
· Collaborate with maintenance personnel to provide cross-functional support and resolve technical issues |
· Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment, including shop areas and tool inventory |
· Partner with production and maintenance teams to ensure product safety and reduce environmental impact |
· Document maintenance activities in compliance with cGMP standards using work orders, digital systems, and logbooks |
· Operate material handling and access equipment, including forklifts, man lifts, and scissor lifts, to support job site efficiency |
· Other duties as assigned |
