Overview

As a key member of our Corporate Communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication activities to enhance the company's brand and reputation. Success in this role requires a proactive mindset and a natural ability to build strong relationships, someone who thrives on engaging with others and forging meaningful connections across the organization.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:  


·Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field

·Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

·Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for a variety of target audiences.

·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

·Demonstrates proactive cross-functional engagement to cultivate strategic relationships, extract actionable insights, and drive collaborative outcomes, favoring in-person interactions to enhance communication and alignment.

·Experience in media relations, crisis communications, and social media management, particularly on LinkedIn, preferred.

·Proven track record of successfully managing communication projects and campaigns.

·Previous experience managing LinkedIn accounts for corporate entities.

·Knowledge of the food and nutrition industry is a plus.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

OCCUPATIONAL DEMANDS:  Fast-paced food/bio-chemical/chemical manufacturing environment, working inside and outside. This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and supporting the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position resides within the North American headquarters in Itasca, IL (hybrid), and requires communication with different US locations and some overseas locations with time differences (e.g., Tokyo).

• Travel 10-15%, mostly domestic (e.g., Akron, OH) with occasional overseas.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·Develop and implement corporate communication strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

·Develop engaging content for both internal and external communication channels, including newsletters, LinkedIn, website, and intranet.

·Support senior leadership in preparing speeches, presentations, and other communication materials.

·Monitor and analyze media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and potential risks.

·Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, HR, and Legal, to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.

·Manage the company's LinkedIn account and engage with followers to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

·Support various divisions within the company on their marketing and communication efforts to ensure consistency and alignment with overall corporate messaging.

·Build trust and rapport through consistent, transparent, and empathetic communication with stakeholders at all levels.

·Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Salary Range

$68K - $72K Annually
